Sold since 2009 (as a 2010 model), it is the successor to the W211/S211 E-Class models. Coupe and convertible models of the E-Class of the same vintage are W204 C-Class derived and known as the C207 and A207. A high-performance E63 AMG version of the W212 and S212 are available as well since 2009. A few years after its breakup with Chrysler in 2007, Mercedes promised that the W212 series E-Class would showcase the automaker’s return to its roots of building solid, high-quality, German-engineered vehicles.
